The auto-unfocus camera strikes again!
Two Swedes attended, eoeo and myself. We were treated to the pleasures of Guildford before going on to the savage northwest. TalonFire (aka Teef) met us in London, and took us to the (in)famous Princess Louise pub for a beer, and a good look at the window that frames our McManus in pictures from the signing event in 1999. And the pilgrimage continued, to an HMV store where we wasted money on multimedia products.
After this, things got a little blurred. Teef took us back to his flat in Guildford, where we sampled our merchandise (Teef and eo) before going on to Preston the next day -- a day filled with accidents and stuff on the British motorways. So we were late getting to Jacha's house but soon got into the festive mood raging inside. We were mobbed not only by gaudy lexxians but also by large and friendly cats, Zathras being a prime example of the latter.

Was Preston really prepared for this? Indications are it was, since it hosted Millwall in a soccer game on the Saturday, and we had to evacuate to Southport. Those fiendish Prestonians! So we braved the weather in the resort town of Southport, also home to a rock shop and a restaurant, both made famous by Jacha. Wandering around looking for shelter from the rain, we also sampled the local Pizza Hut as well as some pubs. And boy was the food at the restaurant well worth all the praise Jacha has heaped on it! They even provided pineapples for lexxian delectation (and we all know the legend of pineapple, right, nudge nudge?)

But the pièce de résistance was yet to come: seven hours of LEXX series 4, in one long marathon viewing at Texas Dave's house. Goll-ee. And also gosh. Our hosts went to bed early but the rest of us partied on with Xev and Stan and all the others until four in the morning. By which time poor Teef shuttled us back and forth to our various sleeping localities. He and I were quartered at Jacha's dad's. I'm afraid I almost gave the old man a heart attack creeping up his stairs just as he came out of the bathroom.... Sorry about that.
The Sunday was a little bit off, as various people had to leave during the day. Still, those of us remaining went back to Texas Dave's and watched "Baseketball" and UnCon tapes. Woo, lexxians in action! Meanwhile, Jacha sewed and sewed on a wonderful dress for Mira, and Dave's delightful cat Spot went around being friendly.
Sunday night provided pleasures of all sorts. Jacha's loft was very useful, to several people, this weekend. Nudge nudge times two.
The stragglers abandoned Jacha on the Monday, leaving her with broken plates and corkscrews. The cat hair was probably there from the beginning though. Clear motorways meant a considerably shorter drive back to Guildford, where, aided by alcohol, we laughed at "Buffy", "Dogma" and "Mallrats". Sadly, I hardly remember anything of the latter movie, except that Jay and Silent Bob were in it, as well as a bald Michael Rooker....
Both eo and I went back to Sweden on Tuesday, going by train, tube, train, plane, bus, bus and bus to get home (in my case). Finally a shower!
