Chapter 6

Nexus

After some difficulties and when Calypso's soul has separated Simon's soul from his body, Simon gets into the Nexus computer. He also happily gets out of it and meets his "alter ego" who says: "OK, now that we have control of the Universe, let's have some fun"

The Fortress

Walk forward and you'll come to a door . A ramp is leading upwards.
Press Tab and look up. You can see the ramp winding all the way to the top.

Check that your magic book is in the hand-box and start to walk. After a little while you'll see a lamp showing a colored light. Then a fire-ball of the same color is formed and sent towards you. Notice the color. As soon as you get control, press Alt then change the color of your dress to the color shown. If the light is white, change the dress to black. Then walk again and the fire-ball won't hurt you.
There are seven possible colors.

Look at the left wall when you walk upwards. When you are about halfway you'll see a lever at the wall. Press the lever and the fireballs are stopped.

Walk until you come to a ladder. Climb the ladder and Runt appears.
He tells you that Sordid and Swampy already have left for Nexus. No Magic Boots were needed. Runt himself will leave as soon as he has done with the three of you

Runt shows Simon his prisoners Coneman and Melissa trapped inside force fields and stunned.
In Inventory combine the pea-shooter with the lens.
Save your game.

Press Alt to make the peashooter ready. Simon says he ought to Press Shift to see better.
Press Shift. Then aim just above the right Release-button (see left picture) and press Ctrl to shoot.
When you hit the button The force-field is turned off and both prisoners fall down but they are still unconscious.

Get the Coneman doll in the hand-box.
Press Ctrl repeatedly a couple of times until Coneman wakes up.

Coneman attacks Runt, but Runt turns him into a duck.

Now Simon is in real trouble. Runt starts swinging his magical sword and Simon calls for someone to help him. Calypso appears.

He knows he has a similar sword and finds it, but handles it so badly that he shoots himself and falls down dead.

Look at the wall behind you. There are seven different colored buttons. Look at Runt when he is swinging his sword, and notice the color. Use the magic book to change the color of the dress to this particular color. Then quickly walk to the button with the same color and check that you are looking at it. At the exact moment when the fireball hits you, press Ctrl and the button will light up.
Continue like this until all the seven buttons are lighted. Things start to happen.
The buttons have absorbed all Runt's magic and he tries to escape. But the duck starts picking him and he falls into the abyss. Unfortunately the duck is at the edge of the abyss when it is transformed back into Coneman and he falls down too.

Nexus

Melissa wakes up and she and Simon hurry into the now opened gateway and are transported to Nexus.
Simon sees a giant head of Swampy there. Calypso's ghost arrives and tells Simon it is a statue of one of the Ancients, the race that created the Universe, they all looked like Swampy. You must enter the head to find the Nexus. Then he disappears.

Walk to the big head and look at it. Simon says it is just like Swampy. Press Ctrl.
Simon thinks that he should sing the Swampling song.
You get some lines to choose from. Choose the lines in this order.
Swampling Stew.
Swampling Stew
To Your Bog Your Swamp Be True.
Swampy Be True
Swampling Stew.
The door opens and you see a red bridge.

Walk out on the bridge.
The tower opens and a guard appears. He tells you that you can only walk slowly on the bridge, not run, not jog not loiter. You can also only walk in one direction. From the control-center not towards it. If you do the guard will eliminate you, which means you have to start all over again.
You are returned to the life-pad.

Hold down Shift and the up-key to start walking slowly forward. As soon as you see that the door to the tower starts to open, turn around and walk steadily, don't stop, until you see the guard returning inside. Then turn around and walk forward again. Do like this until you have passed the bridge and can see the computer in the control-room.

Simon finds both Sordid's and Swampling's bodies in the room but they seem lifeless.
The computer looks old. It has no keyboard and no CD-player.

Calypso appears. He tells Simon that both Sordid and Swampling have entered the computer. That is, their souls have, Only souls can enter, the bodies must be left behind.
Simon must hurry to follow them but first Calypso has to separate his body and soul. Simon thinks that Calypso could do is as he is already soul but he starts making excuses so Simon has to agree.
Calypso separates his soul from his body and warns him to be careful with both, else it might be difficult to reunite them.

Go to the computer.
Look at it, press Ctrl and Simon will jump into it.
When you regain control turn around and walk into the room with 3 green transporters.
Walk onto the right one. Notice that you come out in a room with only one transporter.

Walk out onto the strap and follow it. You will pass some red rings and green corridors. Remember the way. You will soon return the same way and then you are in a hurry and it will be darker.

When you come to a T-intersection turn right and walk forward until you enter another room with three transporters. Press C until the vacuum cleaner is shown in the hand-box.
Save your game.
Then walk onto the right transporter.

In the next room you'll find Sordid and Swampy and a control-board. Swampy looks happy and asks if you are coming to rescue him. Sordid tells you that he needs Swampy to put the computer to manual because as the last descendant of the one who created the computer he is the only one who is allowed to touch it.
To prevent Simon from intervening he puts a force field around Simon.

Sordid orders Swampy to go to the control-panel and put it into manual. Swampy obeys but presses the wrong button and instead erases the computer's memory.
Sordid who realizes what is going to happen runs from the room and Simon is set free. This is the start of a timed sequence. You have two minutes to get back to the control room.
You can see the timer starting on the screen.
Quickly walk to Swampy, look at him and press Alt to suck him into the vacuum-cleaner.

Walk through the gateway and take the same way you came here but now in the opposite direction. First turn right then left. If you see Sordid, follow him.
Turn left at the T-intersection. Pass the green corridors, the red rings, the straps and into a room with one transporter. Step onto it.
Walk up to the red cylinder and pass it to the right.

Take the red lined strip and follow it up to the green corridors. Now just follow the way forward until you enter a room with three transporter. Take the middle one and you tumble out of the computer into the control-room.
You must use the CD to restore the memory but there is no CD-player and no keyboard.

Check that the CD is in the hand-box.
Also check that Auto-run is activated. Open your own CD-player. At the same time a CD-player is opened in the game and Simon inserts the Nexus CD.
Now he has also got a keyboard and writes HOME when he is asked where to go.

But where is Calypso. Simon yells at him to come and reunite Simon's soul and body but in vain.
Suddenly he hears something and a strange figure is tumbling out of the computer. He says he is Simon's alter ego and has been trapped in Nexus for years.
"OK," he says to Simon. "Got control of the Universe have we? Right then. Let's have some fun..."

This is the end of the game but there is some fun left at the credits. Don't miss it.
