Thai Ridgeback Dogs in Sweden
The first Thai Ridgeback Dog arrived to Sweden in December 1995, and the first litter was born in january-96. At the present we have about 20 Thai Ridgeback Dogs in Sweden. Most of them are born in the country, but we have also a few imports. We have representatives of all colours. There is a great interest in the breed, but we do not have any breedclub, yet...

Thai Ridgeback Dogs in the rest of the Nordic countries
DENMARK The first Thai Ridgeback Dog came to Denmark in 1987, and perhaps she was the first TRD ever to be exported from Thailand!?.. The dog was a fawn colored female and she was bought from a very famous kennel. There are also a couple of other Thai Ridgeback Dogs in the country. These dogs are imported from the Netherlands and Sweden. Do you have further information or pictures, please contact me

FINLAND The first TRD came to Finland during february-98. It was a blue import from the Netherlands. During the summer-99 one more male will be imported, this time from Thailand. There is a great interest in the breed and I do not think we have to wait long before more dogs will be imported. Do you have more information, please contact me.

NORWAY The first Thai Ridgeback Dog arrived to Norway in March 1996 and the first litter was born in November same year. At the present there are four Thai Ridgeback Dogs in the country, and one of them is born in Sweden. There is a great interest in the breed.

GERMANY The number of Thai Ridgeback Dogs in Germany is quite high, they have probably the highest numbers of TRDs in the hole Europe. There are a few breeders in Germany and several litters have been born in the country. The breed is still rather rare but quite often you can see Thai Ridgeback Dogs at the dog shows. The breed do not have its own breedclub, but the Thai Ridgeback Dog is being part of a breedclub for rare dogbreeds: "Club für exotische Rassehunde e.V." (The Club for exotic dogbreeds). THAILAND The Thai Ridgeback Dog is very popular in Thailand, and more and more breeders bred these native dogs. There are thousands of Thai Ridgeback Dogs registrated in the country. The breed is still used for its origins utilisation's in the countryside and nobody knows for sure how many dogs they actually are. The breed is the national dogbreed of Thailand and the Thai government has even issued Thai Ridgeback Dogs stamps:

USA There are almost 400 Thai Ridgeback Dogs in the USA and there are several breeders in the country. There is a great interest in the breed. The first known Thai Ridgeback Dogs came to the USA in 1990. There is a breedclub in the US; The Thai Ridgeback Dog Club of the United States Inc., but the breed is still not recognised by the American Kennel Club.
