Windsong´s
kennel
24 years 1976-2000 |
| We are a kennel in Sweden, breeding English Springer Spaniels based on Cleavehill and Teesview bloodlines. We would like to show some photos from the showring and from dogs in action! | Our
target is to combine good looks and working ability in one sound
and pleasant dog!
Welcome to a happy kennel with a long tradition of breeding for dual purpose! |
| A
nice temper is the most important thing. Every springer is primary a companion
365 days every year and modern living is the main thing it has to
deal with. Nowadays they fly, go by subway, accompany their owner to spacy
works a.s.o. They have to bear fireworks and partys and hopefully also
enjoy it!

| Puppies we have, usually one or two litters a year. Between a third to half of the puppies are sold to people who wants to use their dog for some kind of hunting. For retreiving in water or flushing smallgame, wich is traditional springer tasks. But a great number of springers are used for deer hunting and tracking big game, like moose, in Sweden. Not many of these come ever to a field trial. But a few do! We have had 7 springers of our own, at home, during the years that have trial qualifications. |

A
few Windsong springers have been the best compeditor at a field trial.
LP Windsongs Mary Poppins (owned by Monika Jansson) was the last one to
win
a trial. Windsongs Splanky (Windsong & Lotta Ahlberg) was runner-up
at a trial 1999.
Some other great workers is Windsongs Flamma (Per Gunnarsson) who competed in the Swedish Championship for trackers, all breeds, and was just behind the winner for three following years. 1999 gave us tree new Swedish Tracking Champions. |
| Most springers attend an obedience course of some kind. Some goes a bit further, and from us is with no doubt obidience champion SLCH Windsongs Chansa (Inez Ohlson) the No 1 star. Maybe she has to cheer the attention with our own INT NORD UCH Windsong Pralin who was a military certifyed watchkeeper of safeguards, wich included a lot of obedience, and other things such as tracking people, and to stay laying without his leader when they shot with machine guns and let cracks blow behind and over the dogs. |

Many puppies go to a show or two. A smaller number of the dogs we have bred do a greater number of entries at shows. During the years we have had some success: dogs from us have won about 50 CC´s. |
| Competing
and winning is nothing one does on single terms. Trough the years I have
had support from my family, my dog owners and friends. We have showed,
in different combinations of dogs and handlers, about 100 Progeny- and
Breeders Groups of wich 1/3 has been awarded Best Springer Group. I will
grab the opportunity, here and now, to thank everyone!!!

Some
relly unforgettable moments have been BIS at the Springer Club, BIS at
the Spaniel- and Retreiver Club Show, and winning BIS among the Progeny
Groups at Stockholm International! But equally nice as this, can be a new
puppy, winning in the hands of it´s happy new owner.
