Trick or Treat - smell my feet ! - Give me something good to eat !

Black Halloween Punch with a Frozen Hand

1 (.13 ounce) envelope unsweetened grape soft drink mix
1 (.13 ounce) envelope unsweetened orange soft drink mix
2 cups white sugar
3 quarts cold water
1 liter ginger ale

To make a frozen hand, wash a disposable glove, fill with water, seal with a rubber band and freeze until hard.
Stir together grape soft drink mix, orange soft drink mix,
sugar and water until solids are dissolved. Combine with chilled
ginger ale just before serving. Dip the frozen hand briefly in warm water, then peel off the glove. Float the prepared hand in the punch bowl for a ghastly effect.

The Witches Wigs

3 large shredded wheat biscuits
1 6 ounce bag milk chocolate chips
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter

Take the biscuits apart so that you have long single strands of the wheat look like hair. Set aside.

In a microwave safe bowl place the honey, brown sugar, chocolate chips and butter. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time till all melted then beat till smooth. Reheat for another 10 seconds.

Gently stir in the shredded wheat strands. Mix very gently to coat. When the shredded wheat is coated remove to a sheet of waxed paper in clumps. You can use a fork to "comb" the hairs into different directions. Chill for and hour before serving.

Candy Ghosts

1 large mixing bowl
1 fork
4 tablespoons of evaporated milk
3 cups confectioners' sugar
Black or red string licorice

Measure the milk into the bowl then add the sugar slowly using a fork to mix it in until all the sugar has been added.
It will be thick and you will be able to knead it with your hands.

Knead it until the mixture is very smooth and easy to work with, like play dough. Tear off bits of the mixture and shape into little ghost shapes.

Cut bits of the licorice to use as eyes and mouths. Chill. Makes about 10 ghosts depending upon how big you make them. This can also be rolled out and cut with cookie cutters

Halloweenies

3 (6 ounce packages) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
2 Teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped, salted peanuts
1/2 cup candy corn
1/2 cup candied cherries, chopped
pinch of salt

Line the bottom of an 8 or 9 inch square pan with waxed paper. In a saucepan put the chocolate chips, milk and salt. Melt over low heat stirring constantly or zap in your microwave till completely melted. Add the vanilla and all the other ingredients.

Mix really well. Press into the bottom of the lined pan using a spatula to spread it evenly. Chill for a couple of hours or overnight. Dump upside down onto a cutting board and cut into small squares.

Scary Popcorn Balls

10 cups popped popcorn
1 cup mini-marshmallows
1/4 cup butter
1 piece of black licorice
1 package of candy corn
1 package of green candied cherries

Place popped popcorn in a large bowl and set aside. In a microwave safe bowl, melt marshmallows and butter on HIGH for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring half way through, until mixture is smooth. Pour over popcorn and stir well until coated and sticky.

Mold popcorn into 8 balls and place on wax paper. Press two green cherries into each ball for eyes. Push several pieces of candy corn, small end first into the popcorn to shape a mouth.

Cut the licorice into 8 pieces and press one into each ball to form a nose. Wrap with plastic before handing out to your favorite goblins.
