Literature
Here is a list of literature that I can recommend for those who want to do some studying. The list includes books in both english and swedish.
The Fundamental Principles of the Frey-cult, by Olof Freymund Freysgóði. As the spiritual head of one genuine individual cult within the norse native religion, the author gives us the basics of his inherited wisdoms in twelve principles. Along with other short writings they are published in a folio size bound book of 90 pages, published by Worldhouse publications. This book is highly recommendable, both because the Freysgóði is the latest of an unbroken line of cult-bearers, and because his principles illustrate the true nature of our ancient culture. The book can be ordered outside of Sweden through the nearest agent for Western Union Money Transfer by sending the equivalent of 250 swedish crowns to the author Olof Freymund Freysgóði, Stockholm, Sweden. Also send a letter (address under Links) to confirm your deposition and give your address. Inside Sweden, just deposit SEK 250 on Postgiro 22 86 28 - 4, Worldhouse publications, Stockholm, 1996.
To everyone who wants a
thorough, easily comprehensible and also enjoyable guide
to our ancient culture, I can recommend Óðsmál,

Óðsmál, by Guðrún Kristín Magnúsdóttir. This book is named after a God, Óður, who is lost. But a little völva, a seeress, comes across him. This völva, is clearly the alter ego of the author, and the book begins with a dialogue between the God and the völva. The following 32 chapters contain the wisdoms that these two find together. The book is of 432 pages (all left pages are in english, all right pages are in icelandic), and full of interesting facts and reasonings that illuminate all sides of the old norse culture and religion. Comparisons to hinduism are made, aswell as references to modern science. Sacred texts in sanskrit are quoted. Common prejudices and misunderstandings are corrected. Drawn illustrations and humourous comments makes it a joy to read. I can strongly recommend this book to anyone with a serious interest in what is called Asatru. The author is a price-winning icelandic writer, and is also active within the Icelandic Asatru association. Published by Freyjukettir, Reykjavík, 1996. The price is 69 US dollars. Frågor om Asa-tro. A book in swedish, written by the same Freymund Freysgóði that is named above. In this work he gives his answers to common questions about the old norse religion. This book is of 60 pages, and very informative and well written. I can recommend it to you if you are lucky enough to come across a copy. It is probably not for sale anymore. Published by Svitjods Asa-Gilde, 1991.
This list is not complete. It will continuously be added to. If you know of any book that you feel should be here, send a mail to frejtorp@ljusdal.se
