THE BEAR QUARTET

THE HISTORY

The Bear Quartet was formed in 1989 by Jari Haapalainen, Mattias Alkberg, Peter Nuottaniemi, guitarist Johan Forsling and drummer Magnus Olsson. After being rejected by Ceilidh, they signed to A Westside Fabrication in 1992, and in the autumn that very year, the debut fullength album, Penny Century, was released. Magnus is replaced by Urban Nordh, and the band records and releases the albums Cosy Den and Family Affair, plus the Revisited EP. In 1995, the fabulous LP Everybody Else is released, including the gorgeous track It Only Takes A Flashlight To Create A Monster (which was also released as an EP), and the album was shortly followed by Holy Holy. Urban quits the band in '96, and to replace him, the group finds Jejo Perkovic, who normally is to be found with hardcore band Brick. The latest release from the Bear Quartet is Moby Dick, an album that recieved great critical acclaim.
