THE HISTORY

A Shrine signed with A Westside Fabrication in 1992, so they have been around for a while. They started out as a typical indieband from Norrland, sounding like Popsicle, or if you want to go abroad, Dinosaur Jr. But a couple of years ago, they changed their style completely, and started playing dancemusic, with inspiration from the soul of the 70's and ambient techno. Since this is not my cup of tea, I cannot really say if it's good or bad, but if you enjoy listening to that kind of music, I'm sure it's great. Their first record in their new style, Unisex, was released about two years ago and on March 25th 1998 their new album, Dark Words, Gentle Sounds is hitting the shelves.
