This isn't excactly books, but comics. But what does that matter when this is the most wonderful stuff that has ever been made for reading!
These comics is about elves, or more correctly, the writers' version of them. You follow a little tribe of elves who call themselves the Wolfriders - how they are driven away from their home and their peaceful life as hunters by primitive humans and how they discover that they are not the only elves in the world. Their young chief, Cutter, is stroke by a vision to know more. The Wolfriders explore their world of two moons where they live. They encounter both good and evil, cruelty and courage, love and hatred, and they discover that all elves are not good, as little as all humans are bad... Eventually, after a long and hard journey, the get the answer of the ultimate question - who are they and where did their mythic ancestors, the High Ones, come from?
The entire story is told in a wonderful way. You get to know every single elf and become their friend. The beautiful pictures is drawn by Wendy Pini and increase the sense of actually being there. When you have finished reading you almost cry because it's over!
Of course, it isn't over, only the the original (and best) series. After this story comes "Siege at Blue Mountain" where the Wolfriders is forced to try to get rid of their most dangerous enemy once and for all.. And after that comes "Kings of the Broken Wheel" in which a proud elf reawake the powers of the High Ones whith terrible consequences for all... And the story goes on and on. There's storys about the future and the past, stories about each character separately and their own adventures before, after and in between the other events. Too bad, I'd say. Though these are good reading, they aren't half as good as the Original!
But that doesn't matter! Read the original and be caught by a wonderful world of Fantasy, elves and adventures! WARNING! Once you start you won't be able to stop reading...;-)
