Questions and Answers

If you have a question regarding the rules, or want to comment something, please send an email to: gnw_wss@yahoo.se

I will try to answer mails as quickly as possible, or add info below.

There is now also a mail group, created by Keith Bockus, where you can discuss the rules. You find it here:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ga_pa_rules/

Posting questions to the mail group will probably result in quicker answers, since other players will be able to fill in if I'm short on time...

Another good mailgroup where you may find lots of advice/information/discussions on the time in general is the LaceWars group:

 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LaceWars/

LaceWars cover the entire 18th century and is not a rule specific group.

Commonly Asked Questions and their Answers

Which armies are included in the rules?

The rules includes lists for the following armies: Anglo-Dutch, Imperial, French, Swedish, Danish, Russian. The Armies of the War of the Spanish Succession and the Great Northern War include 30 detailed lists, several having different variants as well.

In the Closing Phase, do units that are already "closed with" need to roll, either on the Closing Table or on the Charged Units table?

No these units may not roll at all. Note however that in most cases these units will roll first in the Close Combat phase so they may still run away "without a fight". Only units that are about to be contacted by charging units (in the movement phase) use the Charged units table.

How do you base your own miniatures?

I get a lot of questions about basing, which is probably not surprising, since basing is very much up to the players themselves. I have promised, earlier, to make a short run-through on my own basing system but I haven't gotten around to it since I have been thinking of changing it! So now that I have finally gotten around to re-basing my armies I have  decided to try and sum it all up, to provide an example for those others interested. See the Compact Basing 15mm section for more info.
