The Basic ConceptsCommand and ControlThe players use commander figures to issue orders. All commander may make a certain number of attempts each turn, although no unit may actually be given orders more than once. (But any number of attempts may be made). A unit that is given orders may be moved as the controlling player desires. Units or groups of units that receive no orders will act according to the situation they are in. VisibilityVisibility severely restricted command and control during the era, and this is represented in the game. The longer the battle drags on the worse the visibility - thus making control more and more difficult. BasingNo figure removal is used and only the size of the unit and its stats are important. Therefore players can adjust the scales in the game to fit their miniatures. Troop QualityThis is the main parameter in the game. Everything revolves around the TQ. The Quality is a mix of formal training, battlefield experience and morale. Together with the Unit Type the TQ decides how units will act and react in different situations. Unit TypeThe equipment and training and tactics set the unit type. The Unit Type is vital in determining what an un-ordered unit will do and what a unit with orders may do.
