Nedanstående ger ett sammandrag av tidskriftens innehåll under från och med 1996:Artiklar sorterade efter innehåll 1996-2003Artiklar sorterade i tidsföljd 1996-2003 I have great pleasure in greeting all those attending this Fiftieth Anniversary Council meeting of the World Federalist Movement, and send you all my congratulations and good wishes on this auspicious occasion. Your Movement has helped keep alive for fifty years the values which inspired the creation of the United Nations: the vision of a world prepared to act together against armed aggression, social ills and global threats, and united in its promotion of economic and social progress for all. Although the cold war locked the United Nations within the bipolar international system, progress has been made in many fields. Quietly and unobtrusively, international cooperation in such fields as civil aviation and telecommunications has now become the norm: important disarmament treaties have been concluded; and, while wars and bloodshed continue in several parts of the world, efforts to bring peace are unceasing. The nuclear holocaust has been avoided. Today, we are, in the post-cold war era, working to reform and renew the world Organization, I believe that we have it in our power to fashion the United Nations into the effective and efficient instrument of international cooperation that its founders intended it to be. I am deeply appreciative of the support that the World Federalist Movement has extended to the UN over the years and hope I can count on your continued help and encouragement during this difficult reform exercise. As your Movement moves into its second half-century, I wish you well.
I hope that your vision will continue to be an inspiration for all of us
who are working for a more just, peaceful and prosperous world.
