Similian Island, Thailand#4

Located in the Indian Ocean on the west coast of Thailand lays these wonderful islands, like a string of pearls and just as precious. Since I am writing this from memory some facts may not be 100% accurate but I hope you don´t mind. There are no permanent settlements on any of the islands. There are about 9 islands and on one of these the Royal family spend there summer holidays. The house they live in looks like a tree house in a Fantasy story. Here you can see just about any thing a diver could ever hope for. Mantas, sharks, whale sharks, moray eels, big napoleon fish, barracuda, tuna,lion fish, turtles and much more. There are large underwater forests of fan corals but not as much hard coral formations as in the barrier reef. Big depths can be found around the islands. Best way of getting here is from any of Phuket´s different diving arrangers. A tip for scandinavians are Jonathan cruiser, they have two swedish dive masters in world class, one of them have had over 3000 dives and most in these waters. If you don´t get a god dive here you can´t any where. A warning to non fit divers, there are a lot of currents out there.
