EBTA MEETING IN SALAMANCA

Dear listies:

I am happy to get in touch with you again in relation to the upcoming

EBTA meeting in Salamanca.

Please find here with the last, updated, provisional programme for the meeting.

I guess there might be some further changes in the programme,

but this is basically what is going to happen, and in principle there

should be no major changes. Of course, additional workshops or

discussion groups are still welcome. For instance, would something

volunteer to run a discussion group on eating disorders and sft?

Let me remind you that the conference fee is payable at the

Universidad Pontificia, on Thursday 3rd from 9:00 to 10:00. Please

make sure that you have Spanish pesetas (15000pts.) to pay. The

conference fee includes the dinner on Friday.

Let me also please ask you to register for the meeting by e-mailing

(mark.beyebach@upsa.es), faxing (+34 923 262456) or writing (Mark

Beyebach/Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca / C. Compañía, 1 / 37002

Salamanca, Spain) me. Most of the people who have registered so far

have NOT included their postal address (as I had asked), so we will

not be able to produce a list of participants with this information on

it. No reason to worry: after all, itīs less work for us!!PLEASE, IF

YOU HAVE NOT REGISTERED SO FAR, DO IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!

(presenters do not have to register)

One more thing: I am thinking of organizing a "capea" for Saturday

evening. This is a very traditional thing to do in this part of Spain.

It is basically a bullfight with young (and therefore small and more

or less harmless) bulls, were the participants (you) would be the

bullfighters. The bulls do not get killed nor harmed in any way, but

even so some of you might feel that it is a cruel spactacle.Spaniards

tend to think that it is great fun (I agree with both views).

Therefore, I would like to hear the opinions of the EBTA meeting

attenders about this. Do you think it is a good idea to have this

"capea"? Would you like to participate? Please do tell me!!! The cost

would be between 3000 and 5000 pts., including a "merienda" (ham &

chorizo & wine).Listies who are NOT coming to Salamanca should not

discuss this issue!!! (Only Brian is entitled to crack some jokes).I

am sure there is a list on "bullfights: cruelty or art?" somewhere

else on the web!!!

Well, this is the problem with having meetings in Spain: we have these

strange customs all the time. By the way, have you ever heard of

"siesta".

Well, here goes the programme:
