"It sounds like 1979 English punk with an American feel. It's rockin', it's heavy." Duff McKagan - Guitar, Vocals Matt Sorum - Drums, Background Vocals John Taylor - Bass, Vocals LYRICS / LINKS Neurotic Outsiders started some time in 1995 when Matt Sorum was asked if he could put together a band for a benefit concert at the Viper Room in Hollywood. He did so and at the show he, Duff McKagan, Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) and John Taylor (Duran Duran) got onstage and played a few songs. Apparently they enjoyed themselves and started playing the Viper Room every Monday for a couple of months. The set consisted mostly of punk-covers, and songs originally written by Steve and John. The reputation spread and people like Billy Idol, Iggy Pop, Ian Astbury (the Cult) Simon Le Bon (Duran Duran) came to play with them. Eventually record company people also began coming, and Neurotic Outsiders signed with Maverick Records. For their self-titled debut album they worked with Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads). It was released in September 1996. Neurotic Outsiders didn't do more than a few small tours before going their separate ways, due to commitments to their normal bands. In April 1999, Neurotic Outsiders reunited for three gigs at the Viper Room. SOURCES
