The few scraps of information about Paul H. Tobias that are known come mostly from interviews with W. Axl Rose. When Guns N' Roses did their gig at Rock In Rio III on January 15 of 2001, Axl introduced Paul like this: "Someone who's worked very hard to be here, through all the opposition. And worked very hard with the former band to try to help things work out, and has worked solidly, basically every single day for the last seven years to try to help me and have a goddamn band. The original guitar player /../ that I met when I was twelve years old, and we'd argue who's cooler, Led Zeppelin, Queen or Aerosmith."1Paul was brought in by Axl as replacement in Guns N' Roses for Gilby Clarke some time in 1994. He participated in the recordings of "Sympathy For The Devil", something that Slash didn't like at all. He explained to Kerrang! in 1996 that he couldn't, and wouldn't, work with Paul.2 This has prompted some to see Paul as the Yoko Ono of Guns N' Roses. Axl apparently has another opinion: "I think this is his [Paul's] fourth or fifth show altogether in his life. Without Paul there would be no more Guns N' Roses".3
