Robots out of control (RR) It seemed such a wonderful, life enhancing development: software robots that could automatically comb the web for music files. But it turned into a nightmare as soon as the robots appeared to be smarter than intended and began to search in places they weren’t allowed! They made their way into the electricity net, which gave them access to... well, anything and everything. Illegal distribution is a problem as old as history itself, but this is already the biggest catastrophe for ages. Unreleased material, still in production, becomes available to the public. Archives are pillaged. And nobody knows how to stop them. People stop buying CDs in stores, so Composers, Producers and Record Labels see their income substantially decreased. Donna Wye might even be forced to sell her 30-room mini-replica of the Colosseum. Khaki Records report having seen robots in a vinyl record storage facility - impossible of course, but it does illustrate the panic. Studios are also a victim of attacks - and Music Video Directors are put on hold till the situation improves. Whose fault is this? Dada Data developed the robot, and Shine did most of the security on music worlds' networks, so it's obvious the IT Companies have a great deal to explain. For instance: how can software make calls by itself? For sure, the Telcos aren't complaining, but some people are receiving phone bills ten times higher than usual. As usually happens when things go wrong in Music World, the Legal Advisors count themselves lucky. At Heights, the annual bonuses will be granted next week, so every employee is frantically trying to prove him or herself. Dada Data will see them out on their doorstep! Unreleased material out in the open has one other disadvantage: the Media have some nice scoops on who's-working-on-what and from the archive of Mo-Fi My Bros a tape comes up with a certain artist singing extremely off-key. Dagens dice: Rolling on the Ramblas The Dice rolled: 6 x 3 = 18. This means music world will see one of their worst fears come to life with Change 18: Robot Revolution! Check the ‘Changes’ section in the top of the central game page to see how the experts think music world reacts to this threat. You can read their report by clicking on the ‘5’. More information on the upcoming Changes is available in ‘About Changes’ (click the question mark (?) in the ‘Changes’ section.) Which Assets will profit from this change? Which ones might become worthless in the near future? Asset prices will respond from 19.00 CET to the Change. Prices will start fluctuating beforehand based on other players’ behaviour, so keep a close eye on them. Over the next days, we will keep following the Dice on their tour across Europe. On November 18th the Dice will be rolled in Milan. You can witness this spectacular event somewhere near the Forum Assago concert hall at 12.00 CET.
