Let's Rock 'n Roll!
YOUR MISSION:
Your Mission is clear and concise:
Uncle L. wants you - you're his cousin - and your friends, to become
the first band that transmits a music video via MMS technology. To
accomplish this, you need to:
- Gain experience in all of the profressions in the music world.
- Play your game the right way to be able to afford the music video
production.
- Outsmart your competitors during Uncle L's special game missions.
Dear Uncle L. has sponsored you 3.000.000 Fames (the Fame is the music
world's sole currency). Use this dough to buy Assets, gain experience
and invest it to make more Fames. For a detailed explanation, please
refer to the section Trading.
Access to the Grand Final?
On Wednesday 27 November, 23.59 CET, the music world will close and
your ranking will determine if you get access to the Grand Nokia Game
Tournament Final that will take place on Thursday 28 and Friday 29
November in the evenings. The critera to get access to the final tounament
are:
- Meet the minimum experience levels for each of the professions
- Own one of the IT companies at the moment the music world closes
- Own one of the Telecom companies at the moment the music world closes
- Posses a certain number of Fames.
The exact number of Fames is not determined in advance because it
depends on how successful the other competitors in your country are.
The minimum number of Fames for your country will be calculated directly
after the music world closes.
The music world is a cruel environment: you can't turn back on a decixion
or the audience will "boo" you and you'll loose all credibility.
So read Navigation and Trading first befor you "rock start"
your career.
NAVIGATION:
Each time you enter the music world, you find yourself at one of the
many, many crossings. You can move around and obtain information about
the items you find there by using your cursor keys and mouse. The
keys make you turn and walk and clicking the mouse is needed to make
choices or open certain items. Seen it all? Then decide which way
you want to go next. Be careful though: transportation to other crossings
is limited...
Transportation
There are three ways to move from one crossing to another.
- By scooter (slow, but free of charge)
- By limousine (pretty fast, but you'll be charged 15.000 Fames per
hour for rental)
- By helicopter (very fast, but expensive: 50.000 Fames per flight)
Your Uncle doesn't want you to get too exhausted so he has limited
the number of hours you can drive or fly through the world. Your daily
travel quota is 18 hours. The faster your vehicle, the more kilmetres
you can cover. For exampel: It's 80 km to the next crossing. You can
choose the scooter (4 hours at 20 km/hour fo free) or the Limousine
(2 hours at 40 km/hr for 10.000 Fames per hour = 20.000 Fames). If
you choose the scooter only 14 hours (18 - 4) of your daily travel
quota are left; if you select the limousine 16 hours remain (18 -
2). After you have selected a direcition and a means of transportation,
you will be moved immediately.
A helicopter can pick you up from any crossing in the music world.
However, they can only deliver you to a limited number of crossings
that have Airport status. If you want to move this way, click the
Helicopter button in the bottom of the console and select an airport.
Any flight to any destination will take 1 hour from your travel quota
and cost you an additional 50.000 Fames.
Keep in mind:
- All daily travel quotas are reset to 18 travel hours at 0.01 CET
- The remaining hours in your daily travel quote are deleted at 0.00
hrs CET: you cannot save hours and use them the next day.
- Your travel hours are "virtual", You don't have to wait
for a couple of hours to reach the next crossing.
- The more kilometers you cover, the faster you'll get to know the
map of the music world.
TRADING:
Buying and selling at the right moment: that's what the harsh bizz
of the music world is all about. Prices rise and fall quickly or slowly
- it's up to you when to buy or sell. The interesting part is that
you and your fellow players make the prices go up or down... If fellow
players start buying an Asset, the prices climb. If you and others
decide to sell, the price of that Asset will drop. This is a nonstop
process with prices changing at least every 15 minutes.
Assets and Professions
There are 24 different Assets and each of them represents a company
in one of the 12 professions. An overview of all the avaliable Assets
in the music world can be found in your Portfolio.
The 12 professions are: Producing, Public Relations, Telecom, IT,
Media, Music Video Directions; Record Publishing, Studio Recording,
Legal, Composing, Band Management and Mental coaching. All are crucial
for a smashing career in the Music Bizz. Two companies represent each
profession: a big established name and a lesser-known underdog.
Gaining experience
To complete your mission and become a truly accomplished and self-supporting
artist, Uncle L wants you to gain experience in all 12 professions.
It's like reaching a degree in each discipline. But rather than doing
tests, you've simply got to posses the asset for a certain period
of time. The time required differs by profession and Asset. The bigger
and more professional the company, the faster you gain experience.
That's why, in general, more expensive Assets will "earn"
you experience sooner than the less expensive ones.
Your portfolio shows you how much experience you need for each profession
and which of the required experience levels you have already reached.
Note: You must possess an Asset for the required time without interruption
to reach the required experience level. Selling an Asset before you
have the necessary time experience means that you'll have to start
all over again the next time. On the other hand, accomplished experience
levels will be saved for the rest of your music career.
Each profession is practiced in two companies in the music world.
You only need to reach the experience level in one of the companies.
Keep in mind that reaching all of the Required Experience Levels is
one of the conditions for entry into the final tournament.
BUYING AND SELLING:
Buying: You can only buy an Asset if you are on a crossing where an
office of that specific Asset is located. All Assets have several
offices in the music world.
Selling an Asset is always possible, around the clock, from your Portfolio
screen. ALL the Assets you posses I have a clearly marked SELL button
next to them.
Changes: Besides athe price changes caused by other trading players,
A BIG CHANGE that influences all prices will occur DAILY. The possible
daily Changes are all pre-published on your central game page, - you
must log in to reach this area. Wich change will be activated is decided
by two giant dice that are rolled in major European Cities throughout
the game period. All of the daily Changes, and video downloads of
each Dice event will be published in the News Section from approximatley
16.00 hrs CET. The Change itself will be activated at around 19.00
hrs the same day. Prices will rise and fall according to the explanation
that goes with the change. More information on Changes can be found
on your central game page!

each of the columns. Find this screen via your central game page as
well as from the Music World Navigation Console.
