The Swedish Christian band 7th Heaven have been together playing for some years. It started with friends rehearsing, just as most bands start. All the members have grown up in different churches in a Swedish town called Kalmar and have been playing in different constellations as choirs and brass bands. 7th Heaven has never been a cover band but a band with songs written by the members themselves. The result of this is a mix between different kinds of music such as rock, soul, pop and even with jazz influences (the piano and organ player, Jens Nilsson, is an excellent jazz-musician).

During the years the band has been playing more than 150 concerts, all around Sweden. In a typical 7th Heaven concert, it is impossible not to see how much the members enjoy playing. Happiness is a natural part because the music is happy. The lyrics, so far only in Swedish, are about life. All of the members are Christians and naturally this gives the lyrics a touch of Heaven and all the good things our Father is giving us.

In the beginning of 1990 the singer left the band. This gave the band an opportunity to do something else. A "Musical Café" was started and 7th Heaven invited Swedish famous Christian artists to sing with them. Ingemar Olsson, Roland Utbult, Lasse Edin (from Edin&Ådahl), Edward Negussi and Bengt Johansson are some of the artists who visited the Café. A small concert tour was also made together with Ingemar Olsson.

The next mile stone in 7th Heavens history is when the American singer Tony Huffer joined the band. This great singer brought his songs with him and for two years the band was both Swedish and American. When he and his family moved to Israel the band once more had problems with singer. They had always known that the bass player, Mats Johansson, was the only guy in the band with a good voice. Which is easiest to find; a singer or a bass player? In Kalmar it was easier to find someone who knew how to play the bass rather than a sing, so Mats started to sing, (since this happened the band have changed bass player once).

In 1996 one of 7th Heavens songs was chosen in a Swedish pop song contest organised by the mainradio. 160 of 1500 songs were chosen and played in the radio; unfortunately the band´s song did not advance to the final. After the contest the members started to think about making their own CD album. This became a reality later the same year, when an album called "again" was released.

The next album, that was released in the summer of 2001, is called "tre", cause it's the third album 7th Heaven has released.

Sjunde himlen from Kalmar, is a popband that has been playing since 1986. Sjunde himlen has the whole time kept playing their own material and that is still the fact. The motto has always been: "We combine the most important we know with the most fun we know".
