Kennel Sjökullen is my small kennel situated in central Sweden. At my Kenneln I breed qualitative blue and black Great danes, but also Mastino Napoletano in a very small extent. 

I, the owner and founder of kennel Sjökullen is named Ewa Karlsson. My interest for the breed came about when the blue Great Dane male King entered my life in 1987. Originally I was not that interested of breeding Great Danes, this was an interest that slowly increased simultaneosuly as  people started to show great interest for King. King were said to be very gorgeous and there where lineups to use him in the breeding.  All since then the numbers of dogs have increased in my family.  Today my family is expanded to 4 Great Danes Adolf, Droppen, Scilla and Hildur. Further more I also own 4 other dogs Ben, Kari, Asta and Ella but they do live in hostfamilies.

The most important objective of my breedings is to breed Great Danes with sound temperament. Temperament is very important in order to be able to handle these Giants.  Furthermore I find health as a very important ingredient in my breeding. The parents are allways X rayed for hipdysplasia and only free individuals are used in my breeding. Other illnesses or characteristics that can influence the health is excluded from my breeding. Finnaly my third objective but nonthereless important is to find a Great Dane with beautiful and correct body with great size and substance.
