A tour with old bikes waiths for you

Smashing
headlines

"Two arrested for the mc-killing"

It makes you wonder which bike they killed. A Harley Davidson maybe?

...Or
this one

"The mc-war has reached a new level "

Same here. You wonder which bikes fight against which.

And something
totally different

"Rather herpes then honda"

Is what a guy had as a sticker on his Yamaha, as if it is any difference?

Who might
have said this

"To think before you talk, is like wipe you ass before you shit"

Could it have been someone at the roaddepartment?

Did you
know that

"Hasse Enborg in Målilla have reached the age of 82. The well feeling speedway-
legend is still working in his shop. Mostly he helps veteran-builders with ballance adjustments, and drillings".

I met Hasse in oktober, and he was busy in his shop. A surprisingly healthy old man with lots of stories to tell about motorsport, before and after the war.

Classic Race

"This type of race has flipped out completly"

This is a comment I have heard when attending several Classic Races during -98. And yes...building replicas and use modern parts doesnīt hardly give the classic feeling .

MOTORCYCLE

Mad-Alvar and his SR 400 -82

...AND ITS MAGIC!

Itīs me who is mc-crazy Alvar. Yeah...crazy might be too much, but what the hell...something like that is close?
After reading this page you might be surprised that I work as a sportjournalist at the local newspaper in Vimmerby, and writes alot about motor, even country-road .
Iīm very mc-interested, and I personally think the newspapers often step and chase us "normal mc-riders" with stupid headlines and articles. I myself write about the possitive side. The feeling and experience to ride a bike. And work on the bike.
Have you ever been out in a real thunderstorm. Itīs not nice, but itīs like riding bike. A feeling with power, loud sound...and fresh energy for the soule. And on the saddle you sit there like a god damn Thor and try to get out so much feeling as possible.
People often ask:
"How can you afford a toy like that?"
I usually answer:
- Itīs not a toy, itīs aJOY OF LIFE.

My first bike was a Honda 125 cubic, the model was CB, A fourstroke that I totally renovated. Then I sold it and bought a mini-cross to my son.
Itīs 19 years ago.....
Then I bought a Yamaha SR 400 -82 from my brother (on the picture, with the earth closet and everything) and painted it, the gas-tank was very ugly.
Sold that one too, my dumb shit
Afterwards I managed to find a Kawazaki Z 750 1982 years model in a excelent condition. I kept it to the spring of 1998, and how I got rid of it is a separate story.
Had actually thought about keeping it... The thing is that I got a Yamaha TRX, this during the spring of 98. Have to say it right away:"Any better engine have I never driven, and will probably never drive it again. Sorry Ducati, but".
I had almost driven 5000 kilometers before I sold it with some pain.
The misstake I did was to bring the wife to Hedemora on a Classic Race in july. 800 kilometers on the "chick-chair" on a TRX. They called me "wife-abuser".
And the rest...well, both the TRX and the Kawa had to go for a XJ 900 Diversion (more tour friendly).
The yama have to stick around for a long time now. Sure I miss the TRXīs capricious and vivid behaviour, but the XJ also have itīs bright sides. In the end it is the riding that matters. and thatīs what I do most if the time during the summers.

Iīm a member with the Stonestreetīs mcc in Vimmerby, you have probably allready noticed that. We have lots of fun together, wich you can read about on other pages.
I hope this site can give a pleasant time of reading and klicking. Please remember the adress (or write down), I promise to uppdate it often with new bikes of all kinds. More thoughts will surely come too.
Maybe Iīll see you around somewhere----on bike........At the present time Iīm renovating a 98-cubic Rex Villiers that i wish to start during the spring of 1999.
Then it is on with the "chicken-bowl" and use the throttle.
