The diving club, SDK Gösen, was founded in the autumn of 1985 by: Anders Eriksson, Hans Morén, Egon Boström and Mats S. Further on the club has its seat in Burträsk which is a little village in the northern part of Sweden.
During the spring of 1987 seven people got their diving license and a few months later four of them had a two star certificate. During the autumn of 1987 our club decided that we had to buy a compressor. The members themselves together with a bank loan financed the purchase.
In the spring of 1989 two of the members trained themselves to become instructors. This was also the year when we finally got club premises of our own.
Until 1990 the club did not have a zodiac, and this made us a little bit "handicapped" during our diving trips. With an increased overdraft facility we could buy an engine (25 hp) as well as a Zodiac. 1991 the club also bought an OXY-box to increase the dive security.
1992 the club organized a diving trip to Norway (Saltstraumen), which was very appreciated. This year our official registration of membership was born, and last but not least our diving club entered in the register both at the Swedish Diving Federation as well as at the??.
In 1994 we could finally buy a lot of equipment such as BC, first stage, gage, octopus and tank.
The year of -95 a year of contemplation an a trip to Malta to celebrate the 10 year Anniversary of the club.
1997 we replaced one of the sets bought in -94 and extended the sets to be totaly four complete BC, first stage, gage, octopus and tanks.
To make our five year celebration as a club within the Swedish Sport Diving Federation memorable we started in late spring 1998 to plan a trip abroad Phuket Thailand due to late booking the trip toke place 1-17 feb -99.
