From 1996 Penguin Guide to Classical CD's:

Both recitals here were recorded in 1979. Daniel Varsano has the measure of these pieces and plays admirably. Perhaps the first of the Embryons desséchés could have greater delicacy and wit, and there could be greater melancholy in the second of the Gymnopédies. But there are many good things here and one's main reservation concerns the closely balanced recording of the piano and the slightly dry sound. Entremont, too, is placed forwardly, but he brings charm to the two waltzes, Je te veux and Poudre d'or while the Descriptions automatiques are engagingly crisp and witty. The collection is generous (71 minutes.)

Comments from discussion group:
Varsano does a lovely job of Ireland - perhaps he was still in that mode when he mqade the recordings.
