Barcode XL shows a Error 10041004 in Windows 7 64 bits and MS Office 2010, what to do ?

Let Barcode XL 2002.exe run with administrator privileges (file is located in the Program(x86)\Barcode XL\ folder), then Barcode XL 2002 will work without any problems in MS Excel 2010 and Windows 7 64bits

Run-Time Error 482 ?

You must have a printer installed or you can't run Barcode Maker or Batch Barcode Maker. If you do have a printer installed on a network, please set the printer (in windows) as a locally attached one.

When I uninstall in Windows Vista, I get a "An unidentified program wants access to your computer", what to do ?

It's the UAC (User Account Control) in Windows Vista that alerts you, this will happen on uninstall. Looks like a MS Vista bug. Click on Allow. This problem is not pressent in Windows 7

Where's the included files located ?

Barcode Maker

The Help file and 'How to...' (in PDF) can be accessed from the Start -> All Programs -> Barcode Maker.

There is no fee for any updates within the same major version, so if you have registered v1.00 you will be able to download any minor version udate e.g. v 1.xx for free.

Can I save TIF files in the Barcode Image List or Copy and paste into a document ?

No, you can only save High resolution TIF files and you can Multi select and Save. Many software products is able to open / import a TIF file, Adobe Pagemaker, Adobe Illustrator and many more.

You will be able to copy the WMF (vector image) into Adobe Illustrator, click on the Edit menu in Barcode Maker/Batch Barcode Maker.

How can I change Font ?

In the main window choose Edit then Barcode Size and then Edit in Barcode Size and then Change Font. In Batch Barcode Maker you have to go to the Labels window to change fonts for the barcodes that's going to be printed on labels.

To select the font for a high resolution TIFF barcode image you will need to do this in the TIFF Parameters window.

The Bitmap (*.BMP) is only 72dpi or 96 dpi, can I change this resolution ?

Yes, Go to the TIFF Parameters window and enter the resolution you want 300 to 4800 dpi. Please note that the max. resolution is 1200 dpi for the unregistered version and it’s then multiplied by 4. If you can make a 4800 dpi or not depends on the amount of memory you have. TIF images can only be saved, not added to the Barcode Image List. You can't change the Bitmap resolution only the on for TIFF (*.tif).

Will I be able to print on labels ?

If you need to print to labels, then Batch Barcode Maker is the one for you. Also Barcode Image Maker Pro, Retail Barcode Maker Pro and Code Barcode Maker Pro will be able to print on labels.

Make Code or Add to List isn’t enabled, Why ?

Make Code isn’t enabled when you haven’t entered the right number of digits. EAN 13 needs 12 digits, ISBN need 13 (10 Digits and 3 - hyphens), UPC A needs 11 digits, EAN 8 needs 7 digits, UPC E needs 7 digits, if you use 2 or 5 digit supplement then you will also have to add these digits in the input box to the right. ISBN only supports 5 digit supplement, it’s for the price tag so if you charge $39.99 then it’s 53399. Please also make sure you have chosen the right barcode type.

I need a barcode but it’s not supported by any of your products, can you help ?

Yes, please look at Barcode Image Maker Pro as it supports 50+ bar code types or let me know what you need and I will see what I can do. Please e-mail.

I don’t want to add all my products one by one, What can I do ?

Use MS Excel, please read the "How to.." file included in the setup for Barcode Maker or Batch Barcode Maker.

Barcode Image Maker Pro, Retail Barcode Maker Pro and Code Barcode Maker Pro will be able to open a MS Excel spreadsheet.

I can’t fill in all the digits in then barcode, why ?

You don’t need to fill in the last digit as it’s the check character (check sum) and is added automatically, it also depends on if you have selected the right barcode you want to make e.g. EAN 13 or UPC A…….. (For Code 39, Code 2 of 5 Interl. the check character is optional)

Where can I get a UPC code for my product ?

The size for the barcode saved as a TIF isn’t the same size as the defined barcode size, what to do ?

To make the Barcode saved as a TIF the same size as the defined barcode size, click on Edit and the TIFF Parameters or click on this button you must check ‘’Adjust Barcode Width to Defined Width’’ and also ‘’Adjust Barcode Height to Defined Height’’.

If you have checked the option "Retain Aspect Ratio" in the Barcode Size window ( Edit menu > Barcode Ratio > Retain Aspect Ratio ) then the ‘’Adjust Barcode Width to Defined Width’’ and also ‘’Adjust Barcode Height to Defined Height’’ will no be available in the TIFF Parameters window.

Does your ITF-14 (SCC-14) support both EAN/SCC-14 and UPC/SCC-14 ?

Yes, it supports both the EAN/SCC-14 and UPC/SCC-14.
