Supported vector file formats.
The vector file formats supported by Barcode Maker are:
- Enhanced MetaFile (*.emf)
- Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps)
- Bitmap image formats
What is a vector image ?
Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps) and Enhanced Metafile (*.emf) are vector image formats and is resolution independent, e.g. it's always shown in the best possible resolution, if used in e.g. Adobe Illustrator or any other software title supporting *.eps and *.emf files. You will be able to open a *.eps in Adobe Photoshop, but please note it will be converted to a bitmap. A Vector is not a bitmap image but a calculation of points.

Bitmap image
As you can see in the images above (magnified 6400%), the vector image looks better than the bitmap. So if possible it's always a better alternative to use the vector image. If the software you use doesn't support Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps) then you will also be able to use the Enhanced Metafile (*.emf) if supported, it's also a vector image. This doesn't mean that you should not use a bitmap as the above bitmap would look as good as the vector image at 100% magnification, printed at the same resolution (dpi) as it was made. But if you need to resize the vector image you would not lose any quality. I do not recommend that you stretch the bitmap image.
The Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps) can be saved in the RGB or CMYK color mode, this can be set in the File menu. Enhanced Metafile (*.emf) only supports RGB color mode.

Edit the vector image.
You will be able to edit the vector image in Adobe Illustrator or any other software title supporting editing of Encapsulated PostScript (*.eps) or Enhanced Metafile (*.emf). Included in the PDF Manual and Help file there is a "How to..." showing how it could be done.
Copy and Paste vector image.
You will also be able to Copy the Enhanced Metafile and paste it into a software title that supports the paste of a Enhanced Metafile, if you paste the Enhanced Metafile into MS Word or MS Excel, then make sure it's pasted at 100% size.

Save a vector image
You will be able to save one or more bar codes from the Barcode List, all you have to do is to check the bar code (product) in the Barcode List and then save it.

In the Barcode List above you can see that three items have been selected.
Save the bar code(s)...
The checked product(s)/Item(s) in the Barcode List can be saved in any of the supported file formats. All you have to do to save the bar codes in the file format is to select the Save as in the File menu (or the
icon in bar), select the file format you want to use. Saving is fast, but does depend on the number of items you save and the dpi used. When saved you will be able to see the result. In the File menu click on the 'Open Folder saved to.'

The window you have saved the bar code image(s) to, will open, image below.
