#swedishroms RomManager

#swedishroms RomManager is a program that helps you to organize your ROM files. With one click you can make it rename, check, and move a whole directory full of roms. #swedishroms RomManager only support the standard tosec sets (unzipped), not music or arcade sets. However such support is planned for future versions, including zip-support of course.

2001-11-23 #swedishroms RomManager 1.1 is released

Version info:
v1.1 Fixed some very minor bugs
New folder names

Download: #swedishroms RomManager 1.1 (2001-Nov-23)

This is what you see when you run the application, RomManager.exe:

  • The first thing you have to specify is the Datafiles Path. #swedishroms RomManager uses the ClearMame DAT files. They can be downloaded here. You have to unzip the DAT files.
  • On the next row you specify the Rom Lists Path (where you want #swedishroms RomManager to put your Romlists).
  • The last path is where you want the renamed and checked roms to be moved to.

Now you're ready to download some roms, and then use this excellent program to check and rename them! I suggest you make a directory containing these folders:

Place your ROM files in the Downloads folder (unzipped). Place your ClearMame DAT files in the Dat folder (unzipped). Don't forget to specify the paths in RomManager to these folders. Now you're ready to scan them. To do this just right-click the Downloads folder and choose Scan Roms.

#swedishroms RomManager will now rename, check and move the ROM files. #swedishroms RomManager automatically create new folders inside the Roms folder, named by the DATs that the roms belongs to, and place the rom files inside these. It could look like this inside the Roms folder (depending on what ROMs you're collecting):

Inside the Miss-Have folder it could look like this:
