Metallica Live in Stockholm (Globe arena)
It all started in Mjölby in the middle of the summer -96. Daniel and I realised that we had to order the tickets to
Metallica, or else we wouldn't get any tickets. So we made a call to Stefan first, and asked him if he wanted to come
along. -Yep! he said. Then we made a call and ordered the tickets. They told us that the tickets had been sold out
but some tickets had come back in return. So we decided (I decided) that we should go to the Metallica-show that was
on the Saturday. Then we got our tickets after a couple of days, and now it was just a long wait for the day to come...
16/11-96 8.00 am when I and Daniel woke up at my mothers place, we ate some breakfast and went to Daniel.
Then at 10.00 am, we left Daniels home and picked up Stefan. Then we were ready to go to Stockholm. In the
car we were sitting and talking about Metallica, and drank some apple cider (kopparbergs). After a couple of hours
we arrived to Stockholm, and went to Daniels uncle. We drank a cup of of coffe and ate some sandwiches. Then we
went to the city of Stockholm. When we arrived with the subway, Daniel and I had to visit a toilet. We didn't find any so
we ran around for about 30 min until we found a corner were we could pee! Then we looked in some stores, looking for
Metallica stuff. We didn't find anything special except some postcards with Metallica on. Then I went to a store and bought
a jacket (I trowed the old one into a trashbin!). At this time we felt very hungry so we looked for a pizza store, but didn't
find any! Instead we found a VERY cool store with just hevymetal and punk records. It's called Heavy Sound Rock Shop.
There they had very much Metallica records. Daniel bought a gold edition of ...And justice for all (395 skr). This special record
is one of 1000. Then the search for a place to eat continued. At last we found a kebab store and there we ate some food.
After that it was time to take the subway to the Globe. When we sat on the subway we almost stayed to long on it. It wasn't
supposed to go all the way to the Globe. So we jumped off in the last second, and then we walked the rest of the way.
At last we were there, outside the Globe! They were selling some t-shirts and stuff outside. After a hour or something we went
inside. They were selling more t-shirts and stuff there. We walked around and finally we found our seats. We sat down and
soon the band Corrosion of conformity started to play. They were ok, quite good music, but no action on the stage. At this
point, I started to doubt that Metallica would be as good as everyone had told me. I didn't know how wrong I would be!
Finally Metallica were supposed to start. Everybody were clapping their hands and it was amazing (imagine 13000 person
clapping, whistling and screaming at the same time). Then Jason came running in. Everybody screamed and whistled even
more. Next up were James, then Kirk and last Lars. When they had gathered on the large stage (there were 2 stages!). They
started to play Last Caress, and after the half song the fireworks and the lightshow started. Wow! Amazing! I can't describe
the feeling I feelt. Then the show continued with the other songs. There were often fireworks and lights flashing, which was
unbeliveble. When they came to the song ONE I thought I would DIE! I don't know how many explosions there was, and
how many times I was blinded by flashing. Before the song started it came up fire from the floor on the stage, in more then
15 diffrent places. I sat almost as far away from the stage as possible, still I could feel the heat from the flames!!! Then the
song started (One). When they reached to the fast past, the lights were syncronised with the drums! Very cool! After this
particular song, they continued with the rest of the songs. When they came to Enter sandman, the stage was beginning
to collapse. One of the poles with lights on it started to flash and fall down. The roadies were confused and tried to fix it.
After a while it strarted to explode everywhere. Suddenly one of the roadies were burning, but he was saved by his friends.
Then Metallica came in once again after a while, and played two more songs.
Here are the songs they played:
-Last Caress
-Creeping Death
-Sad but true
-Ain't my bitch
-Whiplash
-Bleeding Me
-King Nothing
-One
-Devils Dance, from the upcoming album (I guess)
-A short bass solo, Kirk and Jason doing the begining of Welcome home (Sanitarium)
-Nothin else matters
-Until it Sleeps
-For whom the bell tolls
-Wherever I may roam
-Fade to Black
-Kill/Ride medley (including Seek & destroy, Hit the lights, No remorse and Fight fire with fire etc.)
------------------
-So what?
-Master of Puppets
-Enter Sandman
-------------------
-Breadfan
-Overkill
I am not so sure if the last songs are in the correct order, can anybody who were there, tell me if I am right/wrong?

Lars playing drums in the fire!

Kirk doing some solo.

James looks like a devil.
I really missed songs like Eye of the beholder and Battery. But I know that they can't play all songs. And why did they only play one song from ...And justice for all and one (a half) from Master of Puppets.
Still this is absolutely the best concert I've been to in my life. (Probarly one of the best thing ever happened to me in my whole
life!) It was awsome, and couldn't been much better! If you ever get the chance seeing Metallica live, take it!!! Metallica must
be one of the best live bands in the world.
