I wanted an upright cabinet and I initially planned to build one myself. I however realised that it would be hard to get the real look
and feel and that all details would bring up the cost and that it therefore was better to buy an old used cabinet. I found one in Örebro at a company called Abatic. They have a whole barn full of arcade cabinets. The told me that they actually burned 200 old
cabinets a couple of weeks before I contacted them because they didn't have space to store them! The one I finally picked was a Cabaret or Mid-size cabinet so I had to make new plans for my control panel layout.
The good thing about it was that it was small enough to fit almost everywhere in our house and my second half accepted it. I also liked the generic sideart. It made it look like an arcade game but not like any
specific game (my cabinet will host several games so why make it look like one single game?).Below is a picture of the cabinet and the sideart. The cabinet measures ~ H155/W60/D70 cm.
