News of 2005Newer news...20062005-11-11A bounch of cars is now out and many things on this site have changed! The three swedish Group H cars are now released, it's a lot to say about them so just check out the download section. The site has got a look through so I think everything should be working fine now. There's a section for the ascona 400 released two weeks ago and also a big article about making cars... All this has taken a long time to finish, having worked with it as usual when I had time and will, so it's a bit of a reliefe to have it all done. 2005-10-29The Opel Ascona 400 is released! You can find it at no-grip.net, and soon I will update the download section here so don't forget to check it out later. The swedish "Grupp H" cars are finished too but I have to make them ready for upload before the release. 2005-10-20Ok, shame on me. Two months without any update is really bad. To my defence I have been very busy most of the time and havn't really had anything new to say. But now I have had some time to continue where I left off with everything I was doing for RT and it moved on quickly. I now have 4 cars as good as finished, only individual sounds are missing, and to be honest I don't think I will make any this time. They sound like rally cars and that will have to be enough. So what do I have? I have a new Volvo 242 with many changes from the old one. I have a slightly updated Volvo 940, a very updated Opel Ascona B and an all new Opel Ascona 400 from the Group B era. However, I can not promise a quick release of those, because I must look through everything to see that I have not missed anything out. 2005-08-18As per request I have uploaded a few progress pics of the Ascona 400, the Ascona B and the new Volvo 242. The last textures for the Ascona 400 are now in place. 2005-08-17OK, time for an update! Loads of things has happened since last time. I'm currently working on several projects at the same time. The Ascona 400 needs a few bits of textures, wich I hope will be finished tomorrow as I have nothing else planned. Then all that is left is to put everything together and make the crash model. A new version of the original Ascona B is pretty much finished too, just need to make the window nets and crash model. David Pettersson has sold the 940 and built a new 242 so that is on the way too... I have made a new skin, rollcage and a few other details for the old 242 model. I will also make new textures for the interior and fine tune some details on it. And finally I have new physics for the old 242 and the 940. The old 242 might get a few visual updates as well, but only time can tell about that. 2005-07-05I did a stupid mistake with the first release of the 940. Somehow two textures where the wrong size causing the game to crash to desktop for some people. I had no problems running the game with those textures so I didn't notice it myself... Anyway, I fixed it as quickly as I could and uploaded version 1.01 to Blackhole Motorsports. 2005-06-23Volvo 940 finally released! I have been waiting for some physics data for ages and didn't get them, so I took what I had and modified it to something that should be close to correct. I did have most of the data anyway. I was surprised when I went to a rally and saw the car, but not driven by David Pettersson, who has healpt me with photos and so on. It turned out he has sold the car so I thought I just have to let go of it now. You can download it at BHMotorsports, but take a look at my download section first. I have also added a few things to the Ascona B description... 2005-05-14No-Grip.net is gone for good now, meaning my site has to move to another server. Temporary I'm at this old crapy thing that I had empty (hence all the banners and pop-ups...) but I will get it onto a proper one soon I hope. In the future I will also redesign the site and make it more of a portfolio for all the stuff that I do, not just Rally Trophy things. 2005-03-07A menu-pic for the 940 uploaded... 2005-03-06I am currently finishing off the volvo 940 for RT. When it is released I will try to get it into RBR as well, as I have had in mind all the time to get the car into both games. The 940, and the ascona B I made before it, are both made with details such as openable doors and stuff so I want to get them into RBR. I have also had several requests to convert the focus, and I like the idea. So after the 940 is in RBR I will probably go for the focus and then the ascona. I can not give any promises for when this will happen as I have to take care of my studies at the same time. But the RT version of the 940 only needs a crash model and physics before a release. After that it's only a matter of how quickly I can learn how to get cars into RBR, the models are finished, so any healp is apriciated... 2005-02-22First in-game test with the 940 went well. I got it into RT at first try, only had to adjust camera positions a little. I uploaded 4 shots of it in the progress section. As there is now a version of Z-Modeler capable of importing / exporting Richard Burns Rally 3d-files (great news!) I will defenately give it a go as soon as the RT version of the 940 is finished. I have also had in mind to get the Ascona B into RBR, and there semes to be interest in having the Focus too. So if everything goes well with the 940 you can expect to see those in RBR sooner or later... 2005-02-18A few new screenshots of the 940 in progress have been uploaded. The project is steadily moving forward and I'm hoping for a first in-game test soon. 2005-02-08I have been working on a Volvo 940 for ages now, but havn't taken the time to present it here at the site. Untill now. At the moment textures are being applyed to the interior and the bottom of the car still needs some work but apart from that only the after-finished-but-before-release stuff is left to do. In other words the crash-model and helper objects needed for it to work properly in the game. Now go check out the progress section! 2005-01-11Happy new year! Ok I know it's a little late but anyway, this the first update of the site in 2005. So what's new? Well the Ascona B is now in the downloads section, the article about me is extended, a skin-creator for the Focus is released and most of the site are now up-to-date. So look around and you will find some changes here and there. The Volvo 940 is slowly growing and I have just started working on textures for it. I will be back with more info about this project soon. Older news...20042003 |
