In this section i will every week display a
feature, trick or any other thing that is usefull in
Photoshop. A new text is displayed
every other week. The text for the following
two weeks will explain how to make your own
brushes. On the bottom om this
page you will later be able to read the old
extras too.
1. Creating your own brushes in Photoshop is
easy. Open a new file and open the brush
Palette by double-clicking on the
brush tool on the toolbar. You can create
brushes upp to 999x999 pixels but brushes
that big will never be usefull
2. For this example I opened a file 120x120
pixels, and made a new layer. The new layer
was filled with Noise with the
Monochrome setting Filters > Add noise >
Noise. This was repeated 2 times.
Then I applied the ?????filter Filter > Add
Noise > ????
3. To get soft edges on the brush select a area
and select Select > Feather, then Select,
Inverse. Fill the selection with
wite.
4. Now select an area for your brush. In my
example a round selection. Then, from the
flyout menu on the Brush Palette,
Select Define Brush. A new icon will now
appear on the Brush palette. You can save the
new brush by selecting Save
Brush from the flyout menu on the Brush
palette.
Notes: You can allways delete the brush by by
selecting Delete Brush from the flyout menu on
the Brush Palette.
