HUNGRY LUGEM

Hungry Lugem

As the morning broke and the sun began it's ascend up onto the clear blue sky, I opened my eyes as I lay with my head on my bloodstained harness. The stomach rumbled from hunger and I needed to eat soon. I had camped under a tree not far from Pride Lake , and there were plenty to eat around. Pojek had sent me to scout ahead and find out where the Orcs had their encampments, maybe I could eat one? Even though they are foul to the taste. I could use a new pair of Orc sandals anyway. I brushed of the most of the dirt and put on my suit of armour, hung my great sword on my back, I took out directions from the sun and headed of to drink in the lake. This was going to be a hot day and I followed the river south.

A bit further upstream I found a great plain with plenty of food. I hunched down, took sight on an elephant calf and started to crawl slowly towards it, there was no cover to hide in so I had to take it slow. After 15 minutes of stalking a group of hunters came walking towards me, a lay flat in the grass to avoid discovery, trolls aren't seen with the best eyes by many of the people that lived in ‘The Commonlands', I had to be careful cause there were three of them. As they came closer I grabbed my sword by the hilt and waited. When they were 20 metres away they stopped and looked around as if they were unaware of me, I prepared a spell that would strike the all at the same time, human flesh mm, it was a long time since I ate a human.

The spell hit them all with lightning and in the confusion I rushed them, the first swipe with the sword hit two of them and as I raised it to strike the third one he hit my shoulder armour with an arrow that bounced of, I cleaved his head with a great blood splatter as the blade went halfway through him. I turned around just as the other two hunters attacked me from behind and a sword broke as it hit my helmet, the second one showed his spear into my side and it hit just under the harness on my left side. I grabbed the spear with one hand and pulled him in closer so that I could grab his hair. I violently pulled his head back and sunk my teeth deep into his throat, the taste of warm blood was invigorating.

The third hunter tried to run and I took my mace from my belt and flung it after him, it hit the back of his head with a loud crackle, I had split his head and spilled much of the tasty brain, to bad. But at least I had food for awhile. I dragged the food together and hunched next to the pile and started to eat. I skinned 2 of them so that I could make writing scrolls, there was no meaning of making sandals out of the weak human skins, they wouldn't last. I cut long strips of the flesh and put it into a makeshift backpack I made from one of them and set of back to Freeport. I had found no Orcs on this scouting, but plenty good human food.

Lugem is going to get yelled at again by Pojek for only thinking of his stomach.
