Piotr was born on June 29th, 1963 in Dabrowa Bialostocka, Poland.

He was the first Polish born player in the NHL. His road to the NHL was a long one, playing in many different hockey clubs in America. He started with the Oshawa Generals (OHL) as a junior player.

In the 1981 draft he was chosen by the Washisngton Capitals. In 1985 he was traded to the Hartford Whalers. With the Whalers he made his NHL debut during the 1987/88 season. Before that he played with a few AHL and IHL teams. He spent the next four seasons with the Whalers, where he played a total 193 games, including 15 playoff games.

During the 1992 Expansion Draft, Piotr was chosen by the Ottawa Senators. The 1992/93 he spent between the pipes in Ottawa. That was the Senators inaugural season in the NHL and even though Piotr made a great effort in goal, they were the worst NHL team. [Albany River Rats] In 1993, Piotr represented the Senators in the NHL All Star Game.He was the first Polish player to attend the All Star game, where the best of the NHL play. In 1993, Ottawa traded him to the New Jersey Devils.

After a few games with Devils, Piotr began to play with Albany River Rats (Devils' farm team). He spend following 3 seasons in the AHL and IHL.

Season 1997/98:
Piotr played with the Rats when he at 1997-12-30 came back to Devils to play his first NHL game since 94-01-15. He played 3th period when NJ Devils lost to Chicago 2-6.After that game Piotr was send back to Albany.

Season 1998/99:
It looks like Piotr retired from active hockey, but it does not mean that he ended with hockey for good. He has become a goaltender coach for The Erie Otters (OHL). He works there with former coach of Oshawa Generals - Paul Theriault, who was the coach of Peter's when he started his career with the Generals in 1980-1984.
Who knows maybe we will see Piotr back in the NHL, only this time as a coach.

Season ..../.... :
If something important will happen in Piotr's new career. I will mention about it here for sure.
