and it's time to replace the bonnet. |

Space is always at a premium
on a Lotus. I had to file down the lower corner of the bonnet catch to
get some clearance between it and the brake fluid container. |

... the shape of the new body. Unfortunately Lotus
had cut away too much material to make room for the pop-up connecting rod.
This, combined with the fact that the shape was probably missing one layer
of glasfibre, made the entire construction kind of flimsy. This in turn
resulted in that the entire nose bulged when the springs were first connected. |

The problem was resolved by glasfibre reinforcements.
Here the springs are replaced and a board is used to protect the nose in
case something would go wrong. |
