Not the best album Paul has ever made, but there are quite a lot of songs here that I like. It
was a nice idea of Paul's to let all Wings members contribute, and on several occasions it
paid off.
Excellent:
Very good:
The note you never wrote - this song has a lovely sound, and I think Denny's vocals fit it very
well.
Beware my love - another one of Paul's songs which consists of a number of different themes all
more or less loosely glued together. Excellent rock'n'roll vocal by Paul.
Time to hide - this was the first self-penned Laine song on a Wings album, and it's about time.
This song rocks.
San ferry Anne - a beautiful Paul ballad, where the lyrics don't seem to go anywhere,
unfortunately.
Okay:
She's my baby - a bit silly, not that there's anything wrong with that.
Wino junko - another one of Jimmy's drug songs. This one is a bit too long, but good
nevertheless.
Must do something about it - even Joe gets to sing a song. His vocals aren't bad, but I wish
Paul had sung it himself. That would have made a good song even better.
Warm and beautiful - Paul's vocals are strained on what is otherwise an excellent song.
Uninteresting:
Boring:
Let 'em in - crappy lyrics, boring music. Not even the vocals seem that good.
Silly love songs - again the hit is disappointing. It just doesn't grab me.
Cook of the house - I think this is probably one of the worst vocals by Linda ever. There are a
lot of songs with much better Linda vocals (many of those seem to feature on Wide Prairie, the
Linda McCartney album). They should have chosen one of them. The lyrics are ridiculous too.
