My favourite McCartney album. Sure, some of the lyrics are kind of crappy, but the music is
excellent all the way through, and Paul has never sung better.
Excellent:
Ram on - is simply lovely. Acoustic with Paul's wonderful singing.
Dear boy - is one of the songs with relevant lyrics, and it never fails to make me happy.
Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey - lovely music, childish lyrics, which makes this into one of
Paul's best ever.
Monkberry moon delight - my favourite track on the album. It rocks, it's nonsense, it's happy.
I always sing along. Tremendous fun!
Ram on (Reprise) - see "Ram on".
Very good:
Too many people - another cut with good lyrics and good music. Excellent guitar playing here.
The back seat of my car - I like the coda on this song, which doesn't mean that the rest isn't
good.
Okay:
3 legs - I do know that the lyrics actually refer to the Beatle situation, but they do seem too
nonsensical. Fun, nonetheless.
Smile away - an okay rock song.
Long haired lady - Linda's singing isn't really her best on this cut, which drags it down a
bit.
Uninteresting:
Heart of the country - Paul's singing about his nice little cosy place in Scotland. Too silly,
but the scat singing is endearing.
Eat at home - nothing in this song really grabs me. The lyrics are dull and the music can't
really compensate.
Boring:
