Welcome to the "alternative page". Here, you can find the albums as I think they should have been, not as they are. I have tried to construct albums that flow well and have roughly the same playing-time. At times, I've failed sorely (there is roughly 30 minutes difference between the playing time of the longest and the shortest album).
When constructing these alternate albums, I've followed a couple of rules:
1) Only songs that had been recorded before the release date of the real album can be
considered. (This rule is broken in some cases, but in those cases, I've only considered songs
that were recorded immediately after the real album's release.)
2) There were no single-only releases, i.e. all songs are found on albums.
3) All songs and albums are studio-only releases.
4) Albums retain their name, except in two cases (War and Peace and
Rupert/McCartney II).
...album.
If you ever try to do construct any of these albums on tape, CD-r, Minidisc or whatever, please let me know what you think. If you like it, tell me why. If you don't, tell me why. Even if you haven't tried constructing any album, I'd be very pleased to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
