| Businessman in Stockholm, possibly jeweler or gilder and purveyor
to the court.
Born before 1653 in Hanover(?), Germany. Moved to Stockholm from Germany or Holland but moved back later probably to Holland. According to unconfirmed information he was married to Elisabeth Hansdotter and lived 1641-1700. The only printed trace (I have seen) which gives any genealogic information about him is the notation from his youngest son's christening. He is there mentioned as "Johan Olbers". The corresponding notation from his elder son's christening is "father unknown". The name of the mother(s?) is missing in both cases. All other information given here is taken from family traditions or other unconfirmed statements. Unfortunately these family tales and statements are not always consistent. The statements here about his parents is based upon the fact that he according to the family tradition as one of elf or twelve brothers and sister went to Sweden. |
