Biglietto
per l'Inferno - "Il Tempo della Semina" (197?) The
second album by Biglietto per l'Inferno which was recorded shortly after their
debutalbum was never released back then because of the record labels shutdown.
However, in the 90's Mellow Records gave out this interesting work. And in my
ears it is a very good album. However, the sound/production isnt the best. Not
your average clystar clear quality. But still its better than bootleg quality
alltogether.
There are six tracks here, and you can tell that these guys are in good form.
The title-track begins. A very impressive opener, longest track here with its
10'13''. Featuring the classic biglietto-sound with very good 'dark' and ominous
themes, tempo-changes and also featuring doomy spoken words. Heavy bass and
drums, good keyboards, moog and organ sounds primarily. Creating great atmosphere.
Some flute is also included. Very good and promising track!
The second track, "Mente sola - Mente", a very short one, has very quirky and
funny opening, the vocals this time whispers, creating another track with a
lot of mood. Track #3, "Vivi lotta pensa" retains the good spirit, its simply
another good track, fast themes with a strong melody.
"L'arte sublime di un quisto regnate" is a track where the balance between fast
wilder themes and slower mix well together. Nice melody, complex themes, great
drums and keyboards - what more can you ask for? "Solo ma vivo" has a good acoustic
intro, it is a slower, ballad-like track, has emotional vocals, Shifting moods
and tempo, a kind of celebrative spirit displayed here.
"La canzone del padre" is another long track (9'34''), filled with slightly
moody themes, lots of moog, primarily a fast jam tempo dominates here. Some
flute also. Absolutely great, one of the best songs here.
So there you have it, this is indeed a very fine release. And its really unfortunate
it didnt get released back then but lets be very grateful that its out on CD
now, for everybody to enjoy this somewhat overlooked but fantastic band. Beware
though, that the sound is not the best, and that it isnt a better or as heavy
release as their classic debut. But for my moneys worth, its a very nice addition
to the collection.
