MQWCL - More QuakeWorld Client
ver. 0.95 release notes

This is mqwcl version 0.95. Read 095news.txt to find details what's new.
Here only some comments.

The purpose of this version is to test new "f_version" authentication
system. Releasing mqwcl source is a GPL requirement, but it is a pain
if it comes to cheat protection. New mqwcl security system is meant
to reconcile these two things. mqwcl now uses a separate starter file,
but it is completely transparent to you, unless you play with different
versions by renaming your exe.

Testing period will be rather short. I predict it will take 2 or 3 weeks.
After that time, if everything goes OK (hopefully), mqwcl will be released
again with complete source code, as a complete version. Hopefully with
full documentation. This is rather short amount of time, so

Next thing: this version is win32 only, sorry. It doesn't mean that
new security system will not be implemented for linux. I'll do it if
time will allow, linux just have a lower priority because there are
far many more win32 users.

Another thing. With this version mqwcl2 is introduced. This is the same
mqwcl you get used to, but is meant to contain more features. So don't
get confused :) Those features are not connected to Quake directly and
may be unwanted by some ppl (for example because of slow machines).
That's why there is a separate version for it. Currently mqwcl2 only adds
MP3 player, and nothing more is planned soon. But there is a room for new
features.

MP3 decoding library, which I used, is not properly licensed yet. It is
free for non-commercial product (which mqwcl is), but license is still
required. But it takes years because of some company rebuildings and I
don't want you to wait so long. So treat this as a beta which you should
not distribute :)
