Francis Albert Sinatra was born in his parents home at 415 Monroe Street, Hoboken, New Jersey, December 12, 1915, in what was then a nice, lower-middle-class neighborhood. Frank was the only child of working-class Italian-American immigrants. Mother Nathalie "Dolly" Sinatra, was born in Genoa, Italy and was a former barmaid who often sang at family gatherings. Father Anthony Martin "Marty" Sinatra, was born in Catania, Sicily and was a boxer-turned-fireman.

January 6, 1977: Natalie "Dolly" Sinatra (82) was one of four people who died in the crash of a Gates Learjet which flew into a mountain shortly after taking off from Palm Springs Municipal Airport in California.
