DIVINE DECAY - Maximize The Misery Osmose, 2003

Bay
Area thrash has come back with a vengeance in the last few years, the big difference
between now and then is that most bands dont actually hail from the particular area
which has given the sound its name. Divine Decay, who deals a lethal dose of thrash with
Maximize the Misery, for example hail from the land of the thousand lakes, Finland. While
most present bands taking on the thrash armour seem to be going for a more brutal appoach
with growling death vocals, Divine Decay has adopted a style more in tune with the spring
of true thrash. Equal parts Slayer and Anthrax with a touch of Finnish misery makes of
this excellent disc. Theres no yielding from the energy Divine Decay conjure and for
an old-school thrasher this is a goldmine to be discovered. They should have reconsidered
the choice of cover-art though....its absolutely horrific to be honest, and takes
away some attention from the albums content. Fuck that for now though, after all its
the music that counts in the long run. Pump up the volume and maximize the misery!!
