| Located at the upper part of the Lule-river's source-tributary, between Sarek's national park and Norway. Padjelanta is Sweden's largest national park, and the Padjelanta plateau is mainly above the tree-level. The terrain is characterised by soft ridges and meadows at 800 to 900 m altitude, with a few mountain peaks; Jeknaffo (1 836 m). There are plenty of lakes; the largest are Virihaure and Vastenjaure. The flora is interesting and rich in species, and the animal life is partly unique, with breeding gerfalcon. A trail, the Padjelanta trail, goes through the park. | |

Hikes: Fact:
|
| Sweden's largest high-mountain area, located east of Padjelanta's national park. It is one of Europe's few remaining wild-areas. There are few hundred mountain peaks higher than 1 800 m, the highest Sarektjåkkå (2 090 m), and a number a glaciers. The area are run through by deep valleys. The largest one, Rapadalen, divide Sarek in two. The grand and alternating nature with barren high-mountains, and a rich animal and plant life in the valleys. There are no made trails in Sarek, but the King's trail (Kungsleden) follows the boundary to the south-east. | |

Hikes: Fact:
|
| The great sea-fall, a waterfall in the Great Lule-river, between the lakes Akkajaure and Langas. It consist of two parallel rows of waterfalls, with a total height of 40 m. The water flow has decreased since the construction of the Suorva-dam (1922). The national park is located north of Sarek's national park; it holds a great variation in topography, flora and fauna, but has been badly hurt by the construction of the hydro-electric power stations at Vietas and Ritsem | |
