(Day 0 -
July 31)
Departure from Göteborg by train and bus to Kvikkjokk, via Älvsbyn and Jokkmokk.
Day 1 -
August 1:

Just outside Kvikkjokk we were dropped off at the helicopter airport, from where we flew with Lapplandsflyg to Staloloukta, in the heart of the Padjelanta national park.

Distance: 1 km
Weather: Sun with only the odd cloud

We walked about 1 kilometre, and set camp next to the Padjelanta trail, going east-Southeast, towards to the cottages at Touttar. After dinner we strolled down to the lake Virihaure, just enjoying the wonderful evening, preparing us for the trip ahead of us. We ended the day with really beautiful sunset over lake Virihaure.

Day 2 -
August 2:

Distance: 20 km
Weather: Sun with hardly any clouds

We had quite early start after a good night's sleep, and broke camp in a hurry to get going, before the millions of mosquitos drained us of too much blood! Heading east-Southeast along the Padjelanta trail, we left Staloloukta and lake Virihaure behind us, towards our goal for today - to set camp just beyond the cottages at Touttar. As we walked, we gained altitude, but with the warm weather and no wind to talk about, the mosquitos were persistent, and swarmed around us every time we stopped to rest. We crossed a few snow-fields, and had to cross two streams, but the water-level was very low, so we could cross without removing our boots. We set camp about 1 kilometre south of the Touttar-cottages, close to a lake, in which later had a "bath."
