Every summer or so (with some luck) some friends and I pack our backpacks with food, clothes, and all other necessary kit, and take the train to the north of Sweden. To some of the National Parks (Stora Sjöfallet, Sarek, Padjelanta etc.), the wilderness, the beautiful and peaceful landscape... I like to measure a successful trip by how many people, i.e. other backpackers, you meet. Or rather, how many you do not meet - because the fewer the better!?! It is hard to measure a successful hike by good weather because it usually rains anyway!
