So, what can I tell you about myself? Well, for starters, I was born, on the west-coast of Sweden, in the beautiful city of Gothenburg, on a wonderful Sunday afternoon, the 19th Day of April, in our Lord's Year 1970. I grew up, together with my younger sister and brother, mother and father, in at that time, a pleasant suburb north of Gothenburg. I reckon, I had a quite normal upbringing, with no major incidents or problems. As for school, I was no star, but rather an average kid, with my weakness' in English and math, believe it or not! But that changed as grew older, and as the level of difficulty increased!?! So I left elementary school with quite good grades, if I may say it myself.

Already at an early age, I knew that I wanted to work with technology and science. So, when the time came for me to choose classes for high-school, the choice was easy. Of course, I studied a four-year technical programme at high-school, which left me with a slightly harder decision to make, for which discipline to specialise in, for the third and fourth year. The choice stood between chemical, civil or mechanical engineering, of which I chose the latter. At the age of twenty, I got my exam as a High-School Engineer, Mechanical Engineer. And finally school was over! Forever, I thought, but as history will tell, I had just finished my first phase of my academic career ...

As most male Swedes, of age twenty or there about, and at that time, in the late 80's and early 90's, I had to do national service. I did my service at the Swedish armed forces as a cryptologist, with basic and specialist training at Norrland's Signal Regiment S3 in Boden. After three months of training I was transferred to do service at a military HQ for another five and half months.

Then in the year 1991, I moved to Trollhättan to study at the University of Trollhättan, for a university certificate in mechanical engineering with specialisation in production technology. The education in Trollhättan was of a so called COOP-model, i.e. the theoretical studies was split by three periods of practical work experience training at a local industry. I did my training at Volvo Aero Corp. (at that time it was called Volvo Flygmotor AB), at the disc shop. The first period (three months) I spent at the shop floor as a CNC-machine operator, and for the second period (six months), I worked at the production office for the same department, as a production engineer. During this period, the opportunity was given to me to do part of the training at Rolls-Royce plc. in Derby, England. I spent three wonderful months in Derby (together with two fellow students, Charlott and Andreas), where I worked as a production engineer for a department manufacturing high pressure turbine blades for gas turbine engines. The third period (also three months) consisted of a project, in which I wrote computer program to calculate ...
... if you really interested in that check-out Education ... Anyhow, I graduated from the University of Trollhättan in 1994.

I was accepted at Chalmers University of Technology in the autumn of 1994, where I studied for a degree in mechanical engineering. After three and half years of hard theoretical studies, I graduated in 1998 as a Master of Science, Mechanical Engineering with specialisation in design engineering. Then, thrown into the grim real world, away from the protective walls of the university. Trying my wings, as an engineer, I flew off to the United States of America, where I worked for Mechanical Dynamics, Inc. as an Engineering Analyst. I was positioned South Bend, IN, for a year and then for four months at MDI's HQ in Ann Arbor, MI.

In August 1999, I left for Sweden again, home to Gothenburg, and after a well earned vacation I started to work for SEMCON Engineering, as a design engineer, in September. Then, about one year later I resigned from that position to start working for Mechanical Dynamics again, but this time here in Gothenburg . . .

The most important thing happened in September 2000. I met the girl of my dreams, Tove :-)

April 26, 2003, Tove and I got engaged!
