Carbonara

This is how it was done at the beach apartment in Newport Beach, where I lived when I studied at UCI for a year. I have to admit that I never made it there myself (it was always my apartment mates who cooked it), but I have tried it myself afterwards and it is delicious!

For 4 persons:

1. Cut the bacon into small pieces. Fry them and drain the fat.

2. Chop the onions and fry them until they get soft.

3. Add the cream (and the bacon) to the onions and cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens.

4. Add the parmesan cheese. Add salt and pepper.

5. Serve with a yolk (each person mixes a yolk into there portion of spaghetti and sauce).
