Semlor
To mark the beginning of spring these goodies shows up at the
confectioners, sometime in April but you may be able to find it in the southern Sweden at
anytime of the year.
Bake whole meal buns with your favourite bread recipe. Cut a lid, scoope
out the middle and fill with ground almond mixed with icing sugar and double cream to make
a buttercream consistency paste. Pipe around the top with a startip stiffly beaten double
cream. Put the "lid" on and sprinkle with icing sugar. Please see the picture. |
