Updated January 2011

We have moved to a town in northern California. My husband Tobe has accepted a new job as a
children's pastor in a church in Turlock.Turlock is about 1 1/2 hours south of Sacramento,
and it's about the same distance to San Francisco.East from here is Yosemite, a little
further norteast Lake Tahoe, and in the south we have Seguia National park with it's big
Redwood trees.

Here are some pictures from Calaveras Redwood Forrest and Halfdome in Yosemite.

Right in the middle of everything. Great location! All the surrounding farmland with
it's big flat plaines remind me of certain islands and the southern parts of Sweden
in the summertime. We feel like we have moved out in the country. We love it!

Our house in Turlock

Pictures from our home the first Christmas here.

We've been here since the end of April of 2007 and the weather is warm and gorgeous most of the year.
We're inland so it's a little to hot in the summer. We can have around
90-105 all summer long for about 3 months.Even the evenings
are so hot you can't be outside.
There seem to always be a slight breeze from the delta up north
which makes it bearable.I love the spring and
the fall which have gorgeous weather.

Our new church was founded by Swedes in 1906, and the services were held in Swedish as late
as the 50's!
The church has about 700 members, so it's a good size church. All ages are
represented, older, middleaged and they have a very active youth program.

January 2011

2011!! Wow! I remember a long time ago when I calculated that I would be 45
at year 2000. And now it's 2011 already! I can honestly say that I feel
better about myself today than I did even 5 years ago.
Or when I was in my 20's. And I feel more attractive too.
It may seem vain, but I actually care about that.
Especially when I'm in good shape physically and keep my weight
at what's my ideal I think I have so much more character at this age and I like it.

Due to age I have pain here and there. My hands are really bad sometimes
I think from all my years working in healthcare, but other than that
I feel very young. I know that belonging to Jesus have everything
to do with it. I got saved when I was 30 and felt like God
gave me 10 years back of my life. Still people think I'm about
10 years younger than I am.Don't mind that! LOL

One of my directors in Mary Kay gave me a compliment. She said that if
my youthfullness could be captured in a jar, one could make a lot
of money. I thought that was funny, especially since that's what we're
doing in Mary Kay; selling youth in a jar.

The Bible tells us to consider how short our lives are. And that is the truth.
But at the same time God gives us a fresh mind and a rich
life and we don't have to stagnate in our ways or our thinking.
It's all in the mind.God opens up new worlds and new ages
for us to discover. And I mean our own phases through life.

It's exciting! I felt so old when I was 26 even. Young people need to
know that life is not all about being young. There's a great future waiting
way beyond 30.They need hope for the future as do all of us.

Tobe and I celebrated Christmas in Phoenix with Tobe's family for the
first time this year. Tobe moved to the San Diegoarea for over more than
20 years ago and even since we got married, we have been busy at
church every Christmas. It was a lot of fun to be with so many
people. Tobe's sisters, their kids and grandkids, Tobe's parents etc, etc.

If you're a Christian, pray for me! I really think it's time for me to
start recording again. I'm looking for material. Just as God said
to Moses; "what do you have in your hand?" I think that God
wants to use what we have. We make it so complicated and think that it has
to be so perfect. And we compare ourselves to other people.
We don't have to do that. It's wrong to do that. God has given you and me
unique gifts and talents and nobody else really know what that is.
And it doesn't have to be perfect.God will make it complete.

I think that the enemy has hindered me all of my life because I have
tried to fulfill goals that others have set before me.As an example;
my manager in the 70's completely paralyzed me by always talking about "the
red thread" in a production. I still don't know exactly what that is
after 40 years!
To me I am the read thread! The gift to sing that God
has given me is the read thread! My faith in Jesus is the red thread! Songs
that have a soulfull, gospel, blues, jazz swing to them is the read
thread! Why? Because that's when God can shine the most through
me and He gets the most glory. His life comes through.
His annointing when I sing is all that matters. That people will be
blessed and get to feel His prescence and have a renewed hope. That God's
healing powers and His revelation can reach people. His kingdom
manifested, not mine.

God wants to do wonderful things through you and me!
So if you feel God nudging you, pray that He will give strength and
that I will be able to focus so I can get this project
and many more done.
God bless you!

Here are some pictures from our garden.

My swedish parents came to visit in Turlock for the first time in May
of 2008.They came again in 2010.
I think they have been visiting us 6 times in the US but these pictures
are from their first time since we moved to Turlock.
We had fun and went to many different sites like San Francisco where we even spent one night,
Yosemite which is a wellknown national park, and we even went to the Calaveras which is
our closest Redwood forest.
Mom and dad made some trips on their own as well since both Tobe and I were working.

The summer is unbearably warm here.I don't do very well in the heat.It can be close to a hundred
for 3 or 4 months straight and it's to warm to be outside. It can be even in the high 90's eight
o'clock at night which is quite extreme.
I enjoy the fall when the temperature is more pleasant.

Check out my blog. Here at my website I will write more about personal
events in my life etc.On the blog I want to respond to different issues in our time that engages me.
Especially in faith matters
We live in some pretty interesting times, spiritually speaking and many
are those that attack Christian faith.
You are welcome to add your comments on my blog
on the subject matters.

Here's a picture from my old church in Oceanside when we had our annual
Easter Sunrise Service down at the beach.I sang "He lives" and it was
quite a blast with the gospel choir and full brass. There were about 7000
in the audience. This picture is from when I sang 2007.Here is also a
link to a recording from 2005 that I put on Youtube if you want to listen. Same song, same choir and band.

I worked in Encinitas for 2 1/2 years from 2002 to 2005. It's a very
nice little town, right by the Pacific ocean.I used to take walks
during my lunch hour. There were so many different routes to choose from.
I loved to walk in the residential areas and enjoyed all the
little beautiful gardens everywhere. Let me give you a sample of
what it looks like. Quite picturesque and a little exotic for a swede.
Hope you enjoy my pictures from Encinitas, California:
