HOUSES AT THE SKREA 177 SITE

 

In the province of Halland most of the excavated settlement has been located on grounds that has been more or less intensively ploughed. This has resulted in poorly preserved remains. Generally are only the postholes from the roof bearing construction to be found. In rare occasions are also the wall postholes discernible.

Below are a few examples of Iron Age houses from the largest site in the Skrea area, Skrea 177. The buildings shown are dated to the period c. AD 100 - AD 550 starting with the youngest
