| The Pelton turbine is used at very high heads,
400 metres and higher. In Sweden the heads are not that high, so Pelton turbines are
not motivated. The Pelton turbine is a free-jet turbine, the runner rotates in air. It is operated by one or several water jets directed towards the runner buckets Pelton turbines are no longer manufactured in Kristinehamn. The manufacturing is however still is done within the Kvaerner Hydro Power group. |
